Kushaura 1
Kushaura 1 is a book and CD package designed to help Mbira students learn and practice Mbira, and the vocals which may accompany the tunes. This is the first course, a collection of first variations; following courses will add variations, vocals and depth.
There are Mbira songs in the book, and recorded on the accompanying CD, which allows you to hear the Mbira played alone, and also with vocals. We use a clear method of notating Mbira which is well explained. Examples are below.
The book also features interesting commentary from Linos Wengara about the background to his life as an Mbira player following Zimbabwean spiritual culture.

Kutsinhira 1
The second book and CD, Kutsinhira 1, is also available. Kutsinhira is the following variation to Kushaura; they work together to lift the Mbira song to a higher level .
The 11 songs that you find in Kushaura 1, have their partners in Kutsinhira 1. The vocals in this book are also more complex and have deeper meanings.
